Senior Commercial Service Technician

This role requires strong technical competency, customer-facing professionalism, and the ability to work independently in occupied commercial environments. This role serves as a technical authority in the field and a mentor to junior technicians while upholding the company’s operational, safety, culture, and customer service standards.
Role Expectations
Troubleshoot and repair all manner of commercial HVAC systems: rooftop units, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, boilers, cooling towers, VAVs, mini-splits, etc.
Perform Preventative Maintenances on commercial equipment – includes detailed checks, controls knowledge, and thorough documentation.
Requires the ability to understand and perform maintenance instructions from the manufacturer as well as aligning contracted scope and company standard scopes.
Perform and oversee startup, commissioning, and functional testing of repaired or newly installed equipment.
Mentor and coach junior and mid-level technicians through on-the-job guidance and technical support.
Assist with training initiatives, troubleshooting workshops, and best-practice development.
Interface professionally with building owners, property managers, facility staff, and general contractors acting as the Company’s primary technical authority.
Clearly communicate findings, repair options, timelines, and cost implications to customers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all job sites.
Accurately complete service tickets, work orders, and daily reports using company systems. Provide clear notes to support billing, warranty claims, and follow-up work.
Participate in training, certifications, and ongoing technical development.
Support company values, culture, and customer service standards.
Regularly lift tools and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Regularly climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access confined spaces.
Regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
On-call or after-hours work may be required based on service demands.
Position Summary
Required Qualifications
10+ Years of Commercial HVAC Service Experience
Journeyman License
EPA Universal Certification
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Safety-oriented, reliable, team-player mindset
Strong communication skills and technical writing skills
Proficiency in industry standard technology (smartphones, tablets, MS Office, dispatch/reporting software)
Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing packaged rooftop units, boilers, chillers, VRF/VRV systems, ductless systems, etc.
Experience in manufacturer-specific diagnostic software (e.g. Diamond Builder Software, LG MV, etc.)
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Passion for customer service
Preferred Qualifications
OEM training or factory certifications
Experience with building automation systems (BAS)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
