Our History

In 1994, Kenny Mallick, a master plumber and gasfitter, created Mallick Plumbing and Heating, Inc. The company started out as a home-based business and Ken hired his brother Michael and his father Ken Senior, called “Pops,” as his first employees. The business quickly became known for offering quality work at a fair price among the construction and remodeling industries. Over the years, the Mallick name has continued to be a sign of trust and quality craftsmanship in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area.

In 2010, Ken made the decision to separate the mechanical construction division from the plumbing service division and he established this operation as its own company. Thus, Mallick Mechanical Contractors, Inc. was incorporated. MMC grew to $40 million in yearly revenue and 100+ employees and became recognized as the “Mechanical Contractor of Choice” by peers within associated builders and contractor’s organizations in consecutive years. During this time, MMC completed some of the most unique and challenging projects in the Washington D.C. Area. 

However, in July of 2023, Ken announced that he’d be shutting the doors on MMC due to a separation of the new construction market from the ideals that helped build his company: Service, Integrity, Respect, and Improvement.

Zach Coleman and Tyler Stebbing were project managers at MMC when the closure began. They both saw MMC as their home and wanted to preserve the company culture that Ken so carefully built. With Zach’s background in managing “special project” HVAC service and replacement work and Tyler’s hands-on field expertise, they decided to approach Ken about keeping the company alive but pared down and focusing on service rather than new construction. With the help of Ken and long-time director of field operations, Jeff Weir, Mallick Mechanical Services was born.

Mallick Mechanical Services is proud to now focus directly on serving business owners, property managers, and building engineers in the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area. With this new venture, we are excited to offer commercial HVAC service, preventative maintenance, equipment replacements, and solution-providing for complex mechanical problems. We bring with us highly skilled HVAC technicians, systems and processes capable of managing complicated jobs, an expansive network of subcontractors and vendors that have supported the Mallick brand for 30 years, and a company-wide shared priority of excellence.
